Orochimaru

I know that it was never mentionned that Orochimaru once used to be an anbu, but, well, anbu uniform is so stylish...
There's something I particularly like in the anime series : Orochimaru'ss decline (episod 114, naruto shippuden). You see him as a young broken boy, hoping to see his parents just one more time, and then he grows up and realizes how life is weak (when he sees Nawaki dying, and Dan, he was looking for Tsunade's team, and he looks at her pain). And, at the beginning, he just wants to prevent people from dying because it hurts their loved ones. And finally, you see him going slightly mad, because he'd do anything to achieve his aims, and so he forgets that his original purpose was to preserve life. It's just someone that life has hardened and who does no delude himself. In the book, he appears more crual, as someone whose only purpose is to learn everything, that's cool too, but to my mind, iy's as if something was lacking in the character.
